Weekend Caching

Post by:

Dan and I went out Geocaching this weekend, and it was great. We found 14 of the 15 we were looking for, and the weather was great! I may need to get some new boots (or some insoles) because I had some MAJOR blisters on my heel at the end of the day.

Check out the two geocoins we found while on the trails:

These coins are so colorful and amazing, I can't wait to find some more. Click the button at the top right of this page to read more about the Geocaching adventure.

Awesomecam has not practiced in OVER A MONTH! It is just kinda hard to get 3 guys motivated to play music, in a city that is trying to kill the live music scene all together. Plus, we all have different things we are working on. For instance, Justine and I are planning our wedding. OH SNAP!

Well, even though nobody is reading this page... I am going to try to keep posting about goings-on. If you ARE reading, leave a comment, or some words. Have a good one!

This is a Geocoin. It goes from cache to cache all around the world. It started in Germany. I am gonna head down to Olympia this weekend, and place it somewhere down there. Well, after some rocking Awesomecam practice.

Web 2.0 Mini-Rant, New Photo Gallery, Geocaching = Awesome, and Renewal Fees

(RANT)

According to my photo galleries, I have not been doing anything in the past year or so. I have taken many pictures, placed them on my hard drive, and forgotten about them. I don't feel right posting those pictures on sites like MySpace or Facebook, because I hate "networking" sites. Even Livejournal has killed what I love about the internet. Web 2.0 is NOT a good thing... YouTube is not a reliable source of information! The internet used to be a place for a certain type of person to hang out, and now it is "everyone." This is how I feel... have you ever had a band that you really liked, and "nobody" else has ever heard of them? You were a fan from the beginning. Then, they started getting noticed by other people, and the band that was once "just yours" is now having to be shared by everyone. The lead singer no longer talks to you after the show, and will just go hang out with other people... That is what the internet has done to me.

In wonderful Web 1.0 style, I pulled the photos that have been on the memory card in my camera since late October, edited each one, and made my own photo gallery. Click HERE to view the photos.

Also, Justine and I have been Geocaching! My Uncle talked to me about it, I brought the idea to Justine, and we have been loving it ever since. Today, we went out and found 10 caches in different locations (7 in Black Diamond, and 3 in Seattle). Here are links to the ones we found today (you can read my description of each one on those pages):

  • Welcome to Black Diamond

  • Rails End
There is a good picture of Justine
at this cache in the NEW PHOTO GALLERY

  • Shelby Street Salmon Stop

  • Astrid's Park

  • Portage Bay Overlook

  • I have to renew DJcopydog.com in April, and I am trying to talk myself into keeping it. This happens every year at this time... and, it really keeps getting harder and harder every year to justify the cost. But, I love it.
