7 Years Old + Unnecessary Spending + MTG Site

Post by:

DJcopydog.com turns 7 this month! Started in High School, paid with a credit card from Zach's mom, and has been growing ever since. I threw down the cash to pay for the site because the Free Hosting services did not meet my needs, but the mix of Readyhosting and Blogger hit every one of them.

To celebrate, I decided to go buy Family Guy (Volumes 3-6, $13 each at Target), a Rorschach Action Figure, some Seed Logs for Niko and Circuit, tickets to the Seattle Sounders game this weekend, and some Magic: The Gathering cards.

Speaking of MTG, go check out GatheringMagic.com. It is hosted by two buddies of mine from work, and I am a moderator in the forums.

Movie News + Best Thing Ever

The second draft of "Holding Hands While Burning" has been completed for a while, and it is just getting some fresh air before I come back (detached), and rip it apart with a re-write. I submitted the first draft to the Netflix Find Your Voice competition. I don't know how much of a chance the first draft stands, but it was definitely a good deadline for me to get the first draft completed.

Now that the script is nearing its final form, I now need the technical end. I was thinking about getting an Apple iMac (new pricing and new items are being announced today...), Adobe Master Collection (or Production Premium), and a new camera (hopefully a tapeless SDHD). To gather these items, I am going to sell a bunch of my old music equipment and gaming gear. The Garage Sale will be posted on the front page of this site in a few days.

On another note... last night at the California Pizza Kitchen, they gave us a FREE PIZZA. Justine ordered a Pep/Pineapple. They came out with Ham/Pineapple, and before she even sat it on the table, she said it was a mistake, and we get that one for free. They even brought out the correct one within a few minutes. FREE PIZZA!

Barack Obama is now the President of the USA! Let's hope that he can live up to the hype people have been throwing at him.

ALSO - I was looking around my computer, and found a short video I made in college. It's called "The Haunted Hospital."

You can find that and the pilot episode of DJTV in the Video Section.

Christmas From the Past

Post by:

I love Christmas.

For the past several years, I've produced SOMETHING relating to Christmas. Here is the rundown of each year:

2007 - "Crunkmas" MP3 Song - In an effort to keep the Christmas media alive, Ryan Tone and I recorded this one pretty late in the game. I love it, but once again... generally ignored.

2006 - "Preachy Santa" Christmas Flash - Black and white message of love. This one was pretty much ignored, and this was the last flash animation I've made since.

2005 - "Taking a Trip" Christmas Flash - Made this one in a rush, but still pretty happy with it, minus the sound quality.

2004 - "Real Stories" Christmas Flash The best one I've Made I am really happy how this one turned out.

2003 - "An Awesomecam Christmas" Christmas Flash - At this point, I started to grasp some of the Flash concepts. This one turned out pretty good.

2002 - "Manny Man" Christmas Flash - Pretty neat video, but the audio/video is off this year.

2001 - "Merry F-ING Christmas" Christmas Flash I didn't even see the South Park episode this song came from until much later. The audio/video are off.

2000 - "It's Raining Men" Christmas Flash - Just learned how to use flash, and wanted to show off my skillz.

Web 2.0 Mini-Rant, New Photo Gallery, Geocaching = Awesome, and Renewal Fees

Post by:

(RANT)

According to my photo galleries, I have not been doing anything in the past year or so. I have taken many pictures, placed them on my hard drive, and forgotten about them. I don't feel right posting those pictures on sites like MySpace or Facebook, because I hate "networking" sites. Even Livejournal has killed what I love about the internet. Web 2.0 is NOT a good thing... YouTube is not a reliable source of information! The internet used to be a place for a certain type of person to hang out, and now it is "everyone." This is how I feel... have you ever had a band that you really liked, and "nobody" else has ever heard of them? You were a fan from the beginning. Then, they started getting noticed by other people, and the band that was once "just yours" is now having to be shared by everyone. The lead singer no longer talks to you after the show, and will just go hang out with other people... That is what the internet has done to me.

(/RANT)

In wonderful Web 1.0 style, I pulled the photos that have been on the memory card in my camera since late October, edited each one, and made my own photo gallery. Click HERE to view the photos.

Also, Justine and I have been Geocaching! My Uncle talked to me about it, I brought the idea to Justine, and we have been loving it ever since. Today, we went out and found 10 caches in different locations (7 in Black Diamond, and 3 in Seattle). Here are links to the ones we found today (you can read my description of each one on those pages):

  • Welcome to Black Diamond

  • Rails End
There is a good picture of Justine
at this cache in the NEW PHOTO GALLERY

  • Shelby Street Salmon Stop

  • Astrid's Park

  • Portage Bay Overlook

  • I have to renew DJcopydog.com in April, and I am trying to talk myself into keeping it. This happens every year at this time... and, it really keeps getting harder and harder every year to justify the cost. But, I love it.

    Merry Crunkmas

This is the first year that I will not wake up at my parent’s house on Christmas morning. Traditions change, times change, and some things are altered.

This is going to be the first time in 6 years that I will not post a Christmas Flash. Instead, Ryan Tone and I came up with a Christmas song, download on my Music Page (and, have a merry Crunkmas)

Awesomecam buttons and stickers are on their way back from the printers. Be on the lookout for some shows in Early 2008!

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas (and, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, have fun doing what you do).

It always amazes me how people find this site. Here are the top 7 search strings used to find DJcopydog.com:

    1 djcopydog
    2 carrots
    3 dinosaur zoo
4 how are you after the rape
    5 stray jacket
6 stray jackets for mental institute
    7 the weekly geek

What... the... heck? I better go work on some meta tags, or something.

Picture of the Day - Awesomecam Disco

    Optio S4i + Photoshop

This picture is a little different than usual. First Photo that was a picture of the day. Have you listened to the Practice Session from Awesomecam? Check the MySpace.

The practice session will only be up there for another week or two, then it will be yanked off. BUT - German Techno Rock will be on there forever.

Speaking of Germans... have you ever looked for "Copydog" on MySpace? Check it out: myspace.com/copydog.

I messaged her, told her she stole my name, and added her as a friend. I will update if anything silly comes of this.

    I also changed TheDude's posting avatar. Chee-ya.
