Farrelli's Those who know me, know that I am REALLY REALLY picky when it comes to bars, but the atmosphere and the delicious pizza makes Farrelli's a place to visit. We came through the doors about 11 p.m. and were welcomed into the warm enviroment by someone behind the counter by saying "Come on into the party!" Justine and I found our own booth, and a server was at our table in about a minute. We ordered a 12" Chicken Fettucini Alfredo Pizza, a Pepsi and a Dr. Pepper. The drinks came out immediately, and the pizza came out about 15 minutes later. The service was fast, but I felt the server was just rushing us out. It might have been true, because last call was at 11:30, and the doors close at midnight. The pizza was excellent. It was full of veggies, really tasty chicken, and a great crust. According to their website, the pizza is cooked with an apple wood fire. APPLE WOOD! The price was very reasonable! For the pizza and the two sodas, the bill (before tip) was $20.20. After we ate the pizza, I looked around a bit. The whole place just seemed cozy! There are a couple of pool tables, TVs everywhere, any type of alcohol you can think of, and the best of all? A download-jukebox. I put in a buck, and got to listen to some Blondie and Blind Melon. Farrelli's sits at the same location where Poole's, the former Lawn and Garden Center, used to stand. It was a landmark of Tacoma, and I am glad that the new buildings on this area are now called "Poole's Corner." If you enjoy the calmer, restaurant-style bars, this is the place to be. I am not sure what the drink prices are, or the desserts, but they are known for their pizza! So do it! |
